Less is More at Cornwall Manor
In May 2015, Fred Brandt (pictured at right) moved from a three-bedroom home into a one-bedroom apartment at Cornwall Manor. He couldn’t be happier. “I’m perfectly happy. I have no complaints,” he says about his Gateway apartment, which has a beautiful view of plush greenery and stately trees. He even feeds the squirrels from his bedroom window each morning. “I open the window and throw nuts out to them.”
Brandt, 82, continues his active lifestyle. He works five to six hours a day at his family’s business – Brandt’s Mill in Lebanon. The store offers high quality animal food, gourmet treats, specialty products, and pet supplies, and the Mill exclusively manufactures equine feed. The business is still family owned and operated which allows Fred to spend time with his son and granddaughter.
When he isn’t working, he enjoys woodworking, golfing and football season, and attending meetings of the Lebanon Lions Club. His “on-the-go” lifestyle makes his one-bedroom apartment a perfect match for him. Fred’s apartment has enough seating for six people, his TV and computer desk, a dining table and four chairs, and plenty of storage. “The size is just right for one person. I am very comfortable.”
