“My mother-in-law, who is ’98 years young,’ was living independently in Florida until she had a series of health issues which resulted in her hospitalization and then admission to a rehab facility. My husband and I were concerned about her declining health and the poor quality of care that she was receiving in the Florida facility.
We contacted Cornwall Manor about the possibility of admitting my mother-in-law to the Health Center. The Cornwall Manor Health Care Admissions Coordinator worked diligently ‘above and beyond’ in obtaining all of the necessary health records from the Florida facility. My husband and his mother arrived at the Philadelphia Airport and by 8:00 PM that same day we arrived at the Cornwall Manor Health Center. We were greeted by a nurse with a wheelchair, and a hot meal was waiting for my mother-in-law. She was examined, helped into her pajamas and to bed. We left her in the care of skilled, caring staff – our hearts lighter and grateful.
In the short time that she has been at Cornwall Manor, my mother-in-law has improved to the point that the staff feels that at some point she may be able to move to Personal Care. We are convinced that our positive experience could not have occurred without the professional care of so many Cornwall Manor staff.”

“We believe the best gift we can give our children is peace of mind. That is why we made the decision to move to Cornwall Manor while we are still young and active enough to enjoy all the opportunities offered here. Our children know Cornwall Manor provides us with a ‘safety net’ that includes quality on-site personal care, memory care and even nursing care and rehabilitation, should our health needs change. Making the decision to move to Cornwall Manor now was the best way to free our children from the worry and responsibility of having to make decisions regarding our care in the future.”

“Moving to Cornwall Manor was the best decision for me! The transition of becoming a resident was easy because my volunteer involvement allowed me to become acclimated to the community, residents, and staff. I very much feel at home – my neighbors are very friendly, my home offers all the conveniences of modern living, and there’s still plenty of space to have all my grandchildren over to visit.
I have peace of mind knowing that if I ever need anything, all I have to do is pick up the phone and call. No more worrying about shoveling snow, cutting grass, cleaning gutters or an appliance that stopped working. I also enjoy the vast variety of amenities available – interest groups for every hobby, concerts, lectures, volunteer opportunities, dining, pastoral care, trips, and transportation. My family and I are so glad I chose Cornwall Manor. Don’t wait until it’s too late – come now and enjoy everything this wonderful community has to offer!”

“We loved our home, our neighborhood and living in historic Virginia for over 50 years. We treasured the proximity to theatre, restaurants, culture and Washington, DC. When we started researching retirement communities, we weren’t sure that we would ever find a community where we felt we could feel “at home” with all the benefits we’d grown to love in Virginia.
After looking at 11 different communities, we visited Cornwall Manor and quickly realized that Cornwall Manor had everything we were looking for. The nature setting and wildlife; hiking trails; a community with the look and feel of a college campus and not an institution; close proximity to cities, colleges, theatre, restaurants and shopping tucked in a country setting; congenial neighbors, history; and activities galore. Leaving Virginia was challenging but in the three years since our move we have never regretted our decision to make Cornwall Manor our home.”

“After being involved with both family and friends who waited too long and then were too overwhelmed to make plans and decisions, we knew we wanted to make a difference choice and move right after we retired. We investigated a number of options, but Cornwall Manor stood out as the best.
Once we decided on Cornwall Manor, we were anxious to move in and that proved to be one of our best decisions. The sense of freedom in living here is so refreshing. Our home is perfect for us and the people, both residents and staff, are consistently wonderful. There are many different programs, activities and volunteer opportunities from which to choose. We can be as active (or inactive) as we want. Our children are happy for us.
We were committed to the move, but living at Cornwall Manor has far exceeded our expectations.”

“Would we recommend Cornwall Manor as a continuing care retirement community? Absolutely.”
Marie was ready to move to Cornwall Manor over 10 years ago when we first visited The Woods. At that time there were just 2 houses under construction. Joe was a little more reluctant to move from his ‘ancestral home’ in Chester County. In the meantime, Marie’s mother moved to Cornwall Manor. This gave us an excellent opportunity to observe how Cornwall treated their residents and the many activities that were available. Finally, we decided to make the move and moved to The Woods. Now, over 4 years later, we couldn’t be happier.
We would list our neighbors as the ‘best of the best’ attributes of living at Cornwall Manor. They are the greatest. Coming from all walks of life and from the four points of the compass, they welcomed us with open arms and gracious help with a wonderful lack of intrusion in our daily routines.
Would we recommend Cornwall Manor as a continuing care retirement community? Absolutely. Our words of wisdom: don’t wait too long!

“Not wanting to change churches and the community, coming to Cornwall Manor was, for me, a perfect move from my home in Mt. Gretna. I loved the fact that I and my dear Jack Russell, “Dutch” were welcome at this pet-friendly community. The beauty and tranquility of Cornwall Manor is self evident. The grounds are well-cared-for and maintained by talented gardeners and Cornwall Manor staff. I enjoy the freedom from outside chores, however; looking deeper we become aware of a caring and compassionate staff, sensitive to our every need.
When I found myself with an unplanned stay in our Health Center, I learned just how compassionate and sensitive the staff really is. They exhibit their dedication to those in their care daily. My unexpected stay in the Health Center was personal evidence of the peace of mind that our continuing care community provides. All the staff and personnel at Cornwall Manor are truly interested in, and responsive to, the welfare of our residents. I thank God for each and every person who works here.”

“As a 32-year employee of Cornwall Manor and the daughter of a former Health Center resident, I can speak with firsthand knowledge about the outstanding quality of care that residents receive in our Health Center.
When my siblings and I realized that we could no longer give our mother the care she needed, Cornwall Manor was our first choice. My family and I are comforted in knowing that while our mother lived here, she received better care than we could have provided ourselves and I believe that she enjoyed a longer life as a result. The details, the little favors, the incredible patience, the compassion – these are the things that I will always remember.
My mother lived at Cornwall Manor for six years, until her death at the age of 92. On the day of my mother’s funeral, among the many who had come to pay their respects, I heard a familiar voice say my name. I looked up and saw Rebeka. She had been one of my mother’s caregivers. There were other things she could have been doing on her day off, but she gave us the gift of her time. For her, and so many at Cornwall Manor, caring for others is not just a job.”

“The beauty of Cornwall Manor’s beautiful wooded grounds and rich history of the former Coleman estate are just a few of the many things that attracted me to Cornwall Manor.
The location is excellent – you are tucked away in a quiet setting but very close to shopping, dining and theatre in Lebanon, Lancaster, Reading, Harrisburg and more.
So much is offered here. Cornwall Manor’s extensive amenities and services available is terrific – everything you need is right here . There are numerous activities and day trips–so much to choose from. The food is excellent and the menus are well-planned with a touch of class. I enjoy dining when I want to since I am not required to purchase a meal plan.
I have peace of mind knowing that health care is available right here, if I should ever need it and I am very pleased that Cornwall Manor is constructing a new health center.
I am so glad that I moved to Cornwall Manor.”
