May. 28, 2021

Today Tomorrow Forever Together CampaignCornwall Manor Retirement Community is very pleased to announce that the Today, Tomorrow, Together….Forever capital campaign to renovate and expand Corson Hall Personal Care, build a Clubhouse at The Woods and increase resources for both current and endowed benevolent support has raised $2 million dollars of its $2.6 million dollar goal.

Today, Tomorrow, Together….Forever Campaign Chairperson Ellen Arnold stated, “To meet the needs of our growing senior living community, we have developed a plan, which includes key building projects as well as support for current benevolent care and the Endowment Fund. Our residents, staff, board, families and community have come together to support this effort through both large and small gifts, including charitable gift annuities, trusts and bequests in addition to outright contributions and pledges. We are well on our way of achieving our vision of a modernized and resident-focused personal care, expanding amenities and services at our Woods Campus and increasing resources for current benevolence and endowed benevolent support. This campaign will better the lives of our residents now and in the future and I am grateful for everyone’s support.”

Built in 1967, Corson Hall was converted to Personal Care in 1986. The building had 30 rooms of varying sizes. The need for Personal Care, which is a level of care for individuals with physical or cognitive limitations, has increased. The renovation design includes larger rooms to accommodate couples, with six additional units added in the new connecting wing. The renovation and expansion project, scheduled to be completed in June 2021, will feature private bathrooms with showers in each accommodation, expanded dining areas and choices, specialized activity and fitness areas to meet the needs of our personal care residents and a secured outdoor area featuring a memory garden.

The Today, Tomorrow, Together….Forever capital campaign also encompasses two additional goals of raising funds for a Clubhouse at The Woods Campus to expand amenities and services for our growing senior living community and to grow Cornwall Manor’s endowment fund for benevolent care.

Benevolent care, the provision of assistance to those residents who have limited or depleted financial resources, has always been at the heart of our mission. It assures peace of mind, dignity, and security to all residents. Cornwall Manor’s benevolent care commitment regularly totals more than $1 million annually.

The Today, Tomorrow, Together….Forever capital campaign cabinet is comprised of Ellen Arnold, Chairperson, Cornwall Manor Resident and Trustee; Patricia Walter, Vice Chair, Cornwall Manor Resident; Jeanne Arnold, Honorary Chair, Cornwall Manor Trustee; William Brill, Board of Trustees Chair, Cornwall Manor Resident and Trustee; Joseph Mesics, Prior Trustee Chair, Cornwall Manor Resident and Former Trustee; Patricia and Charles Weigel, Family Member Chairs and Resident Ambassadors Linda and Ralph Jacobus and Patricia and John O’Neill.
