A lot has happened at the Cornwall Manor Railroad Club since the August 2020 article was posted.

We survived the COVID-19 pandemic and emerged with a determination to continue our work on improving and expanding the HO layout. We converted the HO operating system from DC to DCC (Digital Command Control) and reworked the track layout to create two independent loops for multiple train operation. This required bringing our locomotives up to DCC compatibility. Our rolling stock has expanded to include more than 50 passenger and freight cars. Plans are being developed for the 2024 expansion of the Lebanon section adding 30 more square feet of platform.

The O Gauge layout has two levels and four independent track sections along with a large array of interactive amusement pieces. Boasting more than 30 pieces of rolling stock, both passenger and freight, this DCC operated layout continues to interest and amaze the young and old train buffs alike.

Our Open House’s remain popular with the community. Our Christmas, 2023 Open House drew over 450 visitors. Tours for residents and guests can be arranged upon request.

During 2023 the club made several field trips to visit other HO layouts as well as a tour of the Reading and Northern RR yard and shops in Port Clinton.  A number of Club members joined the Cornwall Manor on to western Pennsylvania to visit the Rail Road Museum in Altoona and ride an Amtrak train through the Horseshoe Curve.

The track ahead is clear and the future looks bright for the Cornwall Manor Railroad Club thanks to the hard work and dedication of our members. Climb aboard and join us.
