The SHARE Bereavement Group meets the first Monday of each month at 10:30 AM in the Wellness Center Meeting Room (former Multimedia Room).
The Support Our Supporters group meets the second Wednesday of each month at 1 PM in the Health Center Conference Room (third floor) with the Chaplain and Health Center Social Worker. This group is open to all caregivers.
The Hearing Loss Support Group meets the fourth Tuesday of January, March, May, June, September and October at 7 PM in Freeman Auditorium.
The Hearing Care Center is available on the first and third Wednesdays from 8:30 AM-12 PM in the CMTV Room (located within the Laurel Place Activity Room). Audiologist Linda Gonya-Hartman holds office hours at Cornwall Manor.
The Sight Loss Support Group meets the first Thursday of every month at 10:30 AM in the Laurel Place Lounge (2nd floor).
The Parkinson’s Support Group meets the fourth Monday of every month except May and December at 2 PM in the Health Center Community Room (third floor).

Assistive Listening Devices – Specifically designed for use with the Chapel and Freeman Auditorium Sound Systems. Contact Resident Services at 717-675-1523.
OPTILEC Magnifying Machine – available for all resident use and is located in the Gateway Lounge, Courtyard level of Corson Hall and the Activity Room (first floor of Laurel Place).
Wheel Chair Lift – Cornwall Manor has several vehicles equipped with a wheel chair lift and can accommodate a varied number of wheelchairs or motorized carts. Contact the Front Desk at 717-274-8050.
Hearing Loop – Hearing Loops are available in Bradley Lounge, Health Center Community Room, Laurel Place Theater Room and Freeman Auditorium. A hearing loop is a wire the circles a room and is connected to a sound system. The loop transmits the sound electromagnetically. The electromagnetic signal is then picked up by the telecoil in the hearing aid or cochlear implant to activate the telecoli.
CORNWALL MANOR SOCIETY
The Cornwall Manor Society, organized in October 1950, is an auxiliary group that supports Cornwall Manor Retirement Community. This volunteer group consists of Cornwall Manor residents and individuals from the surrounding community.
The Society’s mission is to promote the widest possible interest in Cornwall Manor in cooperation with the Cornwall Manor administration and staff, among churches of the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference of The United Methodist Church, and the churches and families of the residents; to develop relationships between residents and non-residents to help meet the needs of all residents of Cornwall Manor and to raise funds for Personal Care and the Health Center.
Four Cornwall Manor Society meetings are held annually.
The Cornwall Manor Society operates two shoppes that are open to residents, employees and community members. Both shoppes accept cash and checks. All proceeds from the Manor Shoppe and the Treasure Trove benefit programs and projects of the Cornwall Manor Society.
- The Manor Shoppe (gift shop and convenience store) is located in the Freeman Community Center and features items like greeting cards, decorations, fashion accessories, chocolates and grocery items. The Manor Shoppe is open Monday-Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM and on Saturdays from 11 AM to 1 PM. As of March 13, Manor Shoppe hours are 9 AM to 1 PM Monday-Friday and 11 AM to 1 PM on Saturdays due to COVID-19 protocol.
- The Treasure Trove (thrift store) is located next to the Buckingham Mansion and features gently used men, women’s and children’s clothing, jewelry, kitchen items (dishes, glassware, small appliances), furniture, linens, books and much, much more. Donations are also accepted during business hours. The Treasure Trove is open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 12 PM to 4 PM and on Saturdays from 10 AM-2 PM. Please note – as of December 1, 2020 – the Treasure Trove will be closed through the month of December 2020 due to COVID-19. We will reassess reopening plans in 2021.
The Cornwall Manor Residents’ Association was formed in the Fall of 1978 and is comprised of all residents of Cornwall Manor. The Association provides a forum for the residents to discuss, review, recommend, and consider matters of mutual interest related to living at Cornwall Manor. It enables residents to participate in policy making on matters affecting their interests, well-being, and convenience. It provides information to the residents, and encourages individuals to become active in its operation. The general membership meets four times a year – 2020 meetings will be held in Freeman Auditorium at 2 PM on January 15, April 15, July 15 and October 21.
Residents’ Association Committees include Resident Representatives, Building & Grounds, Health Services, Wellness, Garden & Greenhouse, Dining Services, Tree, Activities, and Communications.
