Cornwall Manor Receives Technology Grant
Cornwall Manor was a recipient of the Communicative Technology Grant from Pennsylvania’s Office of Long Term Living. The grant was designed to provide technology equipment for personal care and health center residents to use for telehealth visits and to stay connected to family. The grant enabled Cornwall Manor to purchase six Apple IPads, six Otterbox cases, six sets of headphones and cleaning supplies.
Pennsylvania Department of Health regulations had suspended visitation to personal care and health center facilities during the height of the Coronavirus pandemic. Keeping residents connected to their family was essential during this time and the use of iPads and tablets allowed this to happen. Staff scheduled Zoom and Facetime calls with family members. Currently, Cornwall Manor is scheduling in-person visits as well as continuing the Zoom calls with family members.
