🚧 Creek Drive Construction Update 🚧

Big strides are being made along Creek Drive! This home is really starting to take shape, with framing complete, rooflines defined, and exterior weatherproofing (Tyvek wrap) now in place. 🏡

Windows and door openings are installed, giving a clear glimpse of the home’s layout, while work continues on the covered entry and garage structure. With the exterior sealed in, we’re moving closer to the next phases—siding, roofing finishes, and interior work.

It’s exciting to watch these homes come to life step by step. Stay tuned as Creek Drive continues to transform! ✨

Cornwall Manor is pleased to welcome visitors to the opening of Ellen Siberlicht’s mixed media exhibit in our historic Paymaster’s Building. Her imaginative, textural work has created a beautiful and inspiring display. By using a blend of ceramics, fibers and mixed materials, each piece offers a rich exploration of color, texture and form. Exhibit hours are 1:00 to 3:00 Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays thru June 21st.

In the news! Cornwall Manor is bringing art and community together this spring with a captivating new exhibit by mixed-media artist Ellen Silberlicht, showcasing both her innovative work and the continued growth of its Artful Connections program.

The public is welcome to welcome to attend the exhibit, which will open
with a reception on Friday, May 22, 2026, from Noon to 5 PM, and will remain open to the public Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from May 23 through June 21, 2026, from 1–3 PM. Artwork will be available for purchase, with a portion of proceeds benefiting Cornwall Manor’s Benevolent Care program.

Yesterday, our team took a well-deserved pause to relax, connect, and recharge at our "Plant Calm. Sip Joy. Lavender Planting Party"—hosted by our Employee Wellness Works Committee.

Staff enjoyed refreshing lavender lemonade while picking up complimentary lavender starter plants grown locally at Trailside Organic Farm 🌱✨ It was the perfect way to add a little calm (and a little joy!) to the workday.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the event so special—and to our wellness committee for creating meaningful moments that support our team’s well-being. 💫

Yesterday, our residents enjoyed a day trip to Gettysburg that reflects the vibrant lifestyle at Cornwall Manor, where there is always something engaging to experience. Residents took part in an enriching journey through history, beginning at the Gettysburg National Military Park Visitor Center with the inspiring “A New Birth of Freedom” film, the immersive Cyclorama painting and time to explore the museum’s compelling exhibits.

The day continues with lunch at the historic Farnsworth House, followed by a 2.5-hour guided battlefield tour that brings the past to life. Outings like this highlight Cornwall Manor’s commitment to life engagement—offering meaningful opportunities to stay active, continue learning and connect with others through shared experiences.

It has been a busy and energizing start to Tuesday at Cornwall Manor! ☀️

Bright and early, a group of residents boarded the bus and set off for a day trip to Gettysburg. With beautiful weather and rich history awaiting them, the excitement was building as neighbors gathered, shared stories and looked forward to a day of exploration and learning together. These life engagement outings are always a wonderful opportunity to stay connected, curious and on the move.

Back on campus, the Freeman Courtyard was filled with smiles and sunshine during our “Rise & Shine Stretch.” Residents embraced the morning with gentle movement, fresh air and plenty of laughter. It’s the perfect way to start the day—boosting energy, promoting wellness and enjoying the camaraderie of our community.

From travel adventures to morning fitness, life at Cornwall Manor is anything but quiet. Our community is active, engaged and full of opportunities—there’s truly always something to do!

🍳✨ Cooking for One – Class Two Recap! ✨🍳

Today marked another delicious milestone in our Cooking for One series with Chef Lee Flanick leading the way! Building on the strong foundation established in our first class—where participants learned kitchen essentials like knife skills, food safety and proper sanitation—today’s session brought those skills to life in a hands-on cooking experience.

Participants put their newfound confidence to the test as they prepared a flavorful menu featuring Chicken with Pink Sauce, a vibrant fresh vegetable sauté and perfectly crisp fresh potato cakes. From prepping ingredients efficiently to mastering cooking techniques like sautéing and balancing flavors, each step reinforced the practical skills introduced in the first class.

What makes this series so impactful is how it provides residents with the skills necessary to cook with ease and independence. Today’s class emphasized timing, portion control and creativity—key elements when cooking for one without sacrificing nutrition or taste. The kitchen buzzed with energy, teamwork, and pride as each participant plated their finished dishes!

By continuing to build on essential skills and introducing approachable, delicious recipes, Cooking for One is helping participants gain confidence, reduce food waste and discover the joy of cooking solo.

✨🎨 Artful Connections: Wet Felting Workshop 🧶✨

What a joyful, laughter-filled experience at our latest Artful Connections class! Participants explored the creative magic of wet felting under the guidance of a professional artist, discovering how sheep’s fluffy wool transforms into a beautiful, lasting work of art.
Led by Ellen Silberlicht, this hands-on class invited everyone to tap into their creativity while learning an ancient craft that’s making a vibrant comeback in today’s art world. From start to finish, the room was filled with smiles, conversation, and the satisfaction of making something truly unique.

🌸 Participants created stunning felted floral arrangements, crafting colorful wool bouquets to brighten any space. Those feeling inspired were also encouraged to bring their own ideas or images—and Ellen provided guidance to help bring each vision to life.

Beyond the fun, experiences like this highlight the importance of the arts in healthy aging. Creative expression supports cognitive engagement, emotional wellbeing, and social connection—proving it’s never too late to learn something new or rediscover your artistic side.
