As part of our October Employee Recognition celebrations, today we showed off our Team Shirt Day! Departments coordinated shirts to show their pride in the amazing work they do every day. 💪👕

🎶 It’s Wednesday… and that means CM Sings! 🎶

Every Wednesday, Cornwall Manor come alive with music as our CM Sings! group gathers to rehearse — and right now, they’re diving into festive Christmas tunes to spread holiday cheer!

This talented ensemble is part of our Artful Connections program, which brings residents together through the arts — from music and movement to painting, poetry and performance. Artful Connections fosters creativity, community, and joy, making every rehearsal more than just practice — it’s a celebration of expression and friendship.

🌭 Hot Dog Pop-Up Today at Manor Café! 🌭

Dining Services served up a sizzling hot dog bar—loaded with all your favorite fixings! Residents, Staff and Guests enjoyed a tasty bite and were able to customize their dogs with toppings like:

🥬 Sauerkraut
🍅 Relish & tomatoes
🧄 Pickles

🌟 Resident Spotlight: Trish Weigel 🌟

For Trish Weigel, Cornwall Manor is more than a home—it’s part of her family legacy. As the granddaughter of The Rev. Dr. Levi Zerr, our founding administrator, Trish’s childhood was filled with memories of exploring the campus, helping her grandmother cook, and watching the Chapel rise in 1959.

Now, Trish and her husband Charlie have come full circle, returning as residents in 2025. Their story is one of faith, family and deep connection to Cornwall Manor’s history.

“I think my grandfather would be thrilled beyond words to see what Cornwall Manor has become,” Trish shares.

🇩🇪 Oktoberfest Fun in Personal Care! 🥨🍫

Our Personal Care residents enjoyed a flavorful journey through Germany this week as part of our Oktoberfest celebrations! From crunchy pretzels to rich chocolates and other traditional treats, everyone had a chance to sample a variety of German snacks—and the smiles said it all! 😋

It was a delightful way to celebrate culture, spark conversation, and share a few sweet (and savory) moments together. Prost to good food and great company! 🍻

Italian Hoagie Pop-Up! 🥖

Dining Services is serving up serious flavor at our Italian Hoagie Pop-Up Lunch Station — and so far it is a hit! Residents enjoyed fresh-baked rolls, savory meats, crisp veggies, and all the classic fixings that made every bite bellissimo. 💚🤍❤️

🚌✨ Pittsburgh Adventures: History, Sports & Scenic Views! 🏛️⚾🌄

The final day of the trip wrapped up with a visit to the Heinz History Center and the Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum, followed by a scenic ride up the Duquesne Incline. At the top, residents enjoyed a beautiful lunch overlooking the city at Le Mont Restaurant on Mount Washington.

From start to finish, the journey was filled with discovery, connection and the vibrant spirit of Pittsburgh. At Cornwall Manor, residents continue to embrace lifelong learning and adventure — proving that engaged aging is not just a philosophy, but a joyful way of living.

Yesterday was a rootin’-tootin’ good time as we celebrated our incredible team with a Wild West-themed dress-up day and some seriously delicious wood-fired pizzas! From cowboy hats to bandanas, the spirit of the frontier was alive and well — and so was the smell of fresh pizza!

We’re grateful for every member of our hardworking crew. Thanks for bringing your best every day — and for bringing the wild west to life in style!

Cornwall Manor’s residents are enjoying a three-day trip in Pittsburgh!

The first day features a visit to the vibrant Strip District for shopping and lunch, followed by a tour of the National Aviary, home to over 500 birds and mammals.

On the second day, after breakfast, the group explores the Oakland area with a guided driving tour, visits the lush Phipps Conservatory, and enjoys lunch at its café. The afternoon includes tours of the culturally rich Nationality Rooms in the Cathedral of Learning and the historic Heinz Chapel. Dinner is served at the elegant Grand Concourse Restaurant.

The final day includes a visit to the Heinz History Center and the Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum, followed by a ride up the Duquesne Incline to Mount Washington for a scenic lunch at Le Mont Restaurant. The trip concludes with a return journey home, filled with memories of Pittsburgh’s culture, history and charm.

Residents at Cornwall Manor are embracing opportunities to learn, explore and connect—demonstrating that active and engaged aging is not just a goal, but a vibrant way of life.

Our Personal Care residents got into the autumn spirit by crafting their own festive table centerpieces using a beautiful selection of pumpkins and gourds grown right here at Trailside Organic Farm! 🌾
With laughter, creativity, and a touch of fall magic, each resident chose their favorite shapes and colors to design a unique seasonal display. The results? Cozy, colorful and full of personality—just like our residents who made them!
