Caring at the Heart of Northview: Madelyn Doxtater, CNA

March 2026

Madelyn Doxtater’s journey at Cornwall Manor began in 2020, right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. She started in the Activities Department, bringing energy and encouragement to residents during an incredibly difficult time. But even then, she felt called to do more. When Pennsylvania offered the emergency CNA course during the pandemic, she didn’t hesitate—she jumped in, completed the training and a year later enrolled in the full CNA class offered onsite. Activities had given her meaningful connections, but nursing offered the chance to deepen them.

Today, Madelyn works as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on Northview 2, where no two days are alike. Whether she’s helping residents start their mornings, assisting with daily hygiene, serving meals, offering comfort or simply sitting with someone who needs a friend, she approaches every task with warmth and sincerity. She sees the residents as family—people she genuinely looks forward to seeing each day, and who look forward to her arrival just as much.

When asked what she enjoys most about Cornwall Manor, Madelyn doesn’t need to think long: the growth opportunities, the supportive environment and the relationships. She loves being part of a place where she can expand her skills while making a real difference. Her motivation comes from knowing her work matters—knowing she can brighten a resident’s day, provide comfort or share a laugh during a tough moment.

Her professional journey continues to evolve. Madelyn recently shifted her nursing education from St. Joseph’s University to Harrisburg Area Community College, where she is now pursuing her RN degree full-time. Balancing school with two part-time jobs isn’t easy, but she’s determined. She plans to graduate in December 2027.

Madelyn’s work leaves a mark not just on the residents she serves, but on the community as a whole. Whether she’s easing someone’s day, offering companionship or working on a program that will provide comfort in life’s final moments, she creates meaningful moments that shape the culture of kindness at Cornwall Manor.

When she thinks back on her time here, it’s the little things that stay with her—the residents who thank her, the smiles she receives, the relationships built over shared conversations. Those moments remind her why she chose healthcare in the first place. And when she thinks of her favorite thing about Cornwall Manor, it all comes back to the people: the sense of community, the support, the feeling of being part of something bigger.

Madelyn’s story is one of heart, resilience and a commitment to always growing—qualities that make her an essential part of Cornwall Manor.
