Celebrating 75 Years: Distinguished Representatives and Officials Honor Cornwall Manor’s Milestone
In 2024, Cornwall Manor Retirement Community marked a momentous milestone, celebrating its 75th anniversary with a year-long series of events and activities. This significant achievement was recognized by four distinguished representatives and officials, who helped the community to commemorate the special occasion.
Throughout the year, Cornwall Manor hosted a variety of celebrations including a fun day of food and music in Shaefferstown at the Bait and BBQ event featuring country music singer Pam Tillis, learning about resilience with Vietnam Veteran and Pittsburgh Steelers Rocky Bleier, taking historic walking tours of campus, the 75th Anniversary carnival, rocking out with country singer/song writer Jay Allen, a special Chapel service commemorating the 65th Anniversary of Zerr Chapel and Cornwall Manor’s 75th Anniversary and celebrating Founders Day on October 15, learning about our Founder and First Administrator Levi Zerr and the Administrators that stood on his shoulders and celebrating Margaret Buckingham’s birthday while learning about the Colemans, Grubbs and Buckinghams. These events not only honored the rich history of the community but also brought together residents, staff, Trustees, donors, volunteers, and friends in a spirit of camaraderie and celebration.
Pennsylvania State Representative John Schlegel, State Senator Chris Gebhard, United States Representative Dan Meuser and Lebanon Valley of Commerce President & CEO Karen Groh each presented special proclamations and awards to Cornwall Manor, celebrating its legacy of care and compassion. These officials acknowledged the community’s outstanding contributions and its unwavering commitment to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for its residents.
As the anniversary year drew to a close, Cornwall Manor reflected on its journey and is looking forward to the future with optimism and enthusiasm. The celebrations not only honored the past but also reinforced Cornwall Manor’s commitment to continuing its tradition of excellence and care for many more years to come.
