Compassion in Action: Meet Team Member Jade Martin

When you meet Jade Martin, one of the CNAs in Corson Hall Personal Care, you quickly discover her compassionate heart and genuine desire to help others. Her journey to Cornwall Manor has taken her across continents and through experiences that have shaped her love for serving people.

We are grateful to Jade for candidly and openly sharing her personal story. Jade grew up in China and was left as an infant at a Buddhist temple. At age 14, her life changed dramatically when she was adopted and moved to the United States. Learning a new language and adapting to a completely different culture presented challenges, but Jade embraced the opportunity to build a new life and future.

A 2023 graduate of Cocalico High School, Jade continued pursuing her faith and service interests after graduation. She attended a Bible school in Wisconsin for three months before traveling to Thailand on a missionary trip. During her two-and-a-half months there, she worked with at-risk youth, helped provide meals, taught English, and shared her faith. The experience reinforced her passion for caring for and encouraging others.

After returning home, Jade learned about Cornwall Manor’s CNA training program through a friend who worked at the community. She enrolled in the class, successfully completed the program, and accepted a full-time second-shift CNA position in the Health Center. In August 2026, Jade transitioned to Corson Hall Personal Care when a full-time day-shift opportunity became available.

“I love the intimacy of personal care,” Jade shares. “I enjoy getting to know the residents one-on-one, learning from them, and building relationships with their families.”

For Jade, being a CNA is much more than a job. She enjoys the hands-on nature of caregiving and finds fulfillment in helping residents each day. The personal connections she forms with residents are one of the most rewarding parts of her work.

Outside of Cornwall Manor, Jade attends River of Life Ministries in Brickerville, which is affiliated with the United Zion Church. She is actively involved in the church’s young adult group and enjoys volunteering in the community. One of the organizations close to her heart is CityGate in downtown Ephrata, where she assists individuals who are struggling with drug and alcohol addiction.

In her free time, Jade enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising, hiking, and traveling. She also loves making homemade sushi and relaxing with crime dramas such as Chicago P.D. and Law & Order: SVU.

Reflecting on her life, Jade appreciates the unique perspective she has gained from experiencing two very different cultures. Her journey has strengthened her passion for serving others and making meaningful connections. Whether she is caring for residents, volunteering in the community, or supporting friends and family, Jade brings kindness, empathy, and dedication to everything she does.

We are grateful to have Jade as part of the Cornwall Manor team and thank her for the compassionate care she provides to our residents every day.
