Meet Jayro Garcia: Building Connections One Smile at a Time – Staff Spotlight

If you’ve enjoyed a meal at Cornwall Manor’s dining venues, chances are you’ve met Jayro Garcia. Known for his calm demeanor, positive energy and ability to make people smile, Jayro has become a familiar and friendly face to residents and coworkers alike.

A native of Lebanon and a 2020 graduate of Northern Lebanon High School, Jayro first came to Cornwall Manor in 2021 through a referral from a high school acquaintance. He began his career in Dining Services in the Health Center before transitioning to Campus Dining in 2025, where he continues to build meaningful connections with residents every day.

One of Jayro’s favorite parts of his job is interacting with residents. He enjoys getting to know people and believes that a smile and conversation can make a difference in someone’s day.

“I feel like I can talk to anyone about anything,” he says.

Residents may notice a unique habit when Jayro takes their orders in the dining room. Rather than standing over them, he often squats down so he can speak at eye level.

“I think it’s important to be on their level so they can hear and see me better,” he explains.

That thoughtful approach reflects Jayro’s commitment to providing exceptional service and creating genuine connections with those he serves.

You can usually find Jayro working the 10:45 AM to 6:45 PM shift, covering both lunch and dinner service. More recently, he has also been spending time at The Clubhouse, where he enjoys working in the new space and larger kitchen.

“It’s something new and different,” he says.

Outside of work, Jayro stays active. He enjoys playing basketball at Coleman’s Park and previously participated in a basketball league. He also likes going to the gym, taking walks and spending time with family and friends.

An important person in his life is his girlfriend, Aubryanna, who works in Cornwall Manor’s Health Center. The two have known each other since high school.

When it’s time to relax, Jayro enjoys watching documentaries, cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles and following Argentina’s national soccer team. Proud of his Central American heritage, Jayro’s father is from Honduras and Jayro is fluent in Spanish.

Looking ahead, Jayro hopes to further his education by attending Vo-Tech or Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology to pursue a career in HVAC.

Whether he’s sharing a joke with residents, helping create a positive dining experience or working alongside his coworkers, Jayro’s friendly personality and caring attitude make him a valued member of the Cornwall Manor team.
